Carolyn Davis, APRN-CNP

Carolyn Davis, APRN-CNP is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner specializing in primary and acute care pediatrics. Before starting her role as a Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Surgery in 2012, she was a bedside nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for 5 years. In 2018, she had the opportunity to participate in a regional multidisciplinary colorectal workshop and found her love for colorectal patients. In 2019 she began an independently run bowel management program where she sees patients struggling with constipation with a history of Anorectal Malformation, Hirschsprung Disease, or idiopathic constipation refractory to medical management. In 2024, in conjunction with Justin Huntington, M.D., they developed the Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatric Colorectal Program which includes a comprehensive approach with multidisciplinary clinics collaborating with specialists in motility, urology and gynecology. Carolyn values the relationships she develops with her patients and families and knows this is essential in providing care both before and after surgery. Outside of her clinical duties she is a Relationship Centered Care trainer at Akron Children’s Hospital. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her 4 kids at their various sporting events and dancing.
