Cristine Velazco, MD
Dr. Cristine Velazco is a board-certified general surgeon at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She treats children and babies with complicated conditions, using minimally invasive techniques when possible. As the director of colorectal surgery, she has expertise in pediatric care including colorectal, thoracic, emergency and trauma surgery.
Dr. Velazco earned her medical degree from the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine in Burlington. As a fellow of the Albert Schweitzer Foundation, she helped design and implement recreational activities for children with special healthcare needs in the Burlington area.
She completed a residency in general surgery at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine’s Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Velazco’s training also includes fellowships in pediatric surgery research at Boston Children’s Hospital in Massachusetts, pediatric colorectal surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center in Ohio, and pediatric surgery at Mayo Clinic/ Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona.
