Dr. Irene Isabel (“Iris”) Lim-Beutel is the Associate Director of the Comprehensive Colorectal Center and the Surgical Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program at Children’s Mercy Hospital-Kansas City. She completed general surgery residency at New York University Langone Medical Center as well as fellowships in pediatric general surgery and pediatric colorectal surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Lim-Beutel is particularly interested in long-term functional outcomes for patients with Hirschsprung’s disease, anorectal malformation, and chronic idiopathic constipation, as well as in children with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. She hails from the Philippines and grew up in New York. She has a keen interest in bringing quality pediatric colorectal surgical care globally, and obtained her Masters in Public Health with a concentration in global health. She aims to build a telehealth system that can be utilized globally to assist children and caregivers with their bowel management needs.
