Jeffrey Avansino, MD, MBA

Jeffrey R. Avansino, MD, MBA is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Washington and an attending pediatric surgeon in the Division of Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery at Seattle Children’s.

Dr. Avansino earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada, School of Medicine, in Reno in 1999 and completed his Residency at the University of Washington in 2006. In 2008, he completed his fellowship training in pediatric surgery at Seattle Children’s Hospital and completed a Master of Business Administration at Seattle University in 2016.

His clinical interests include anorectal malformations and Hirschsprung disease, and he is the founder and past Director of the Reconstructive Pelvic Medicine Program at Seattle Children’s. His research interests center on anorectal malformations, continuous process improvement and quality. He is a member of the Colorectal Team Overseas that provides education to providers and surgical care to children with pediatric colorectal anomalies. In addition, he is on the medical board of directors for the Pull-Through Network and is on the executive committee for the Pediatric Colorectal and Pelvic Learning Consortium (PCPLC).  Locally, he is Vice President, of Medical Affairs and Associate Surgeon in Chief.
