Lusine Ambartsumyan, MD
Dr. Ambartsumyan is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University of Washington and the Director of the Gastrointestinal Motility Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Her clinical and research interests include mechanisms of fecal continence in children with functional and organic defecation disorders such as anorectal malformations, post-surgical Hirschsprung Disease, and neurogenic bowel. She participates in a number of national and international collaborations to standardize the evaluation and management of pediatric motility disorders including the National Spina Bifida Health Care Guidelines Working Group, Pediatric Systemic Scleroderma International Research Group, and the Pediatric Colorectal & Pelvic Learning Consortium. Dr. Ambartsumyan is an active member and the Vice Chair of the NASPGHAN Neurogastroenterology & Motility (NGM) Committee where she has co-authored a number of position papers including training standards, establishing a motility program, management of post-surgical patient with Hirschsprung Disease, and evaluation of Refractory Constipation. Dr. Ambartsumyan was recently awarded a membership to the American Pediatric Society where active membership is reserved for individuals whose contributions have distinguished them nationally or internationally as leaders, teachers, and scholars.
