Monica Holder, RN

Monica Holder is the Lead Nurse with the Colorectal Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She obtained her nursing licensure in 2001 and joined Cincinnati Children’s as an inpatient RN. She has been with the Colorectal Center since it creation in June of 2005, initially as an inpatient nurse, then transitioning to out-patient care of colorectal conditions including anorectal malformations (ARM), cloaca, Hirschsprung disease, constipation, fecal incontinence and inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis). She focuses on all care aspects including acute surgical needs and long term management, with a great focus on bowel management and quality of life outcomes. As a member of the Leadership team, she has been very instrumental in the center’s continued growth and development over the years.

She shares her 22 years of vast experience and knowledge to both patients and other healthcare providers by hosting a series of events within the center including parent Global Casts, teaching Webinars and an annual international Colorectal Nursing Conference. Monica joins her colleagues on mission work, traveling internationally (Africa) to educate physicians, nurses and other health care providers on pediatric colorectal conditions.
