Payam Saadi, MD
Dr. Payam Saadai is the Director the Pediatric Colorectal Center at Shriner’s Children’s Northern California and Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. He completed his pediatric surgery fellowship at the Center for Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstruction at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to his training in Columbus, he obtained his medical degree and completed general surgical residency at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He founded the Pediatric Colorectal Center at Shriners Hospital in 2016, and has particular expertise in fetal surgery in addition to pediatric colorectal diseases. Dr. Saadai’s research interests include the investigation of novel techniques to improve the pathological diagnosis and intraoperative evaluation of Hirschsprung disease. His professional affiliations include the Pediatric Colorectal and Pelvic Learning Consortium, American Pediatric Surgical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Surgeons, and the International Fetal Medicine Surgery Society.
