Peter Osgood, MD

Dr. Peter Osgood graduated with his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. He trained in Pediatrics at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and completed Pediatric GI fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston before pursuing advanced training in neurogastroenterology and motility at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He is now an attending gastroenterologist at Lurie Children’s and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Osgood is board certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition by the American Board of Pediatrics. To date, Dr. Osgood’s clinical and academic interests include use of advanced diagnostics to provide better-targeted patient care with the aim of better defining underlying mechanisms of disease. This work includes use of diagnostic endoscopy, manometry, impedance/pH testing, functional luminal imaging probe (FLIP), and endoscopic injections and dilatations. Much of Dr. Osgood’s clinical and academic work is done in close collaboration with Pediatric Surgery toward effective management of complex conditions including esophageal atresia, achalasia, feeding difficulties, intestinal pseudo-obstruction, and complex colorectal disorders.
