Prathima Nandivada, MD
Dr. Prathima Nandivada is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and a pediatric colorectal surgeon at Boston Children’s Hospital, with a focus in congenital colorectal malformations and disease. She is interested in improving the care for children with Hirschsprung disease, who continue to suffer from enterocolitis and chronic constipation despite uncomplicated surgical reconstruction. Her research aims to identify abnormalities in the expression and/or function of tight junction proteins in children with Hirshsprung Disease and develop small molecule therapeutics that can maintain barrier function and reduce the risk of postoperative complications.
