Serena Chan, MD, FACOG
Serena H. Chan, MD, FACOG is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her B.S. from Yale University and her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Chan completed her Obstetrics & Gynecology residency at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She then completed a fellowship in Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH.
Dr. Chan practices at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where she serves as the Division Chief of Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology. She provides specialized gynecologic care for children, adolescents, and young adults. Her areas of interest include management of congenital reproductive tract anomalies, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery in children and young adults, fertility preservation in children/adolescents receiving gonadotoxic therapy, reproductive endocrine issues, and menstrual management in patients with special needs.
Dr. Chan has served on various hospital and professional society committees, including a term as Education Committee co-chair for the North American Society for Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology (NASPAG), on the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) Long-Term Follow-up Guidelines Task Force on Reproductive-Endocrine Late Effects, and on the Gynecology Committee for the Pediatric Colorectal and Pelvic Learning Consortium (PCPLC).
